Intersectionality is a theory where people can be discriminated against multiple wheres because they are a minority in multiple ways. For example a black women or a gay black male of female. people who face multiple minority threats fall under this category.
the three types of intersectionality are structural, political and representational
When talking about "the other" that is about women who are also black that are discriminated against for two reasons. it talks about how issues about being black and a women are never talked about as being overlapped. only see them talked about separately.
Stereotypes of female athletes of color can affect there sporting experience in many ways, people tend to look down on white female athletes, so a black female athlete is treated even worse especially in white dominant sports. these stereotypes can effect there confidence in themselves and as well as there behavior towards the sport. An athlete I can use as an example is Serena Williams, an African American tennis player who was discriminated against when she first join the sport but years later prevailed and become the worlds best player.
