After reading the article "Have we Really come a long way baby" written by Janet S. Fink it raises a few questions about gender equality in the sports world. The problem with Gender Stereotypes in sports is that they give all female sports a bad representation automatically. This makes expectations for women sports low from the beginning even before the audience watches it.

Sport is considered behind in gendered progression because they receive far less media time then men. This makes it so women have an automatic disadvantage in gaining popularity with the American public.

I believe that the stereotypes in sports are hurting female athletes more then they do the male athletes. Some stereotypes for males are actually good for them like physical and strong but for female athletes stereotypes like weak and slow hurt them.

As a potential sports manager I believe that I could do a couple of things to help take these stereotypes and toxins out of sports. First, I believe that more media attention and promotional ad's will bring more fans to pro female sports. Also you can promote positive things they do around the community so they can make a name for themselves on and out of the sport.
